National Chocolate Mint Day
February 19 is National Chocolate Mint Day. That phrase always brings to my mind the mints that Marshall Field’s department store in Chicago made famous, arguably the most delicious chocolate mints in the world–Frango mints.
Sadly, Marshall Field’s, founded in 1852, yielded to a corporate merger in 2006 and is now part of Macy’s. However, the new owners were smart enough to keep making Frango mints. If you’ve never tried these bite-size delights, treat yourself. A one-pound box is just $12.99 plus $3 shipping.
