Kraft Gives Away Cheese
for National Grilled Cheese Month

April is National Grilled Cheese Month. To honor it, Kraft Foods is offering a coupon for a free pack of KRAFT singles to the first 1000 sandwich lovers that submit their favorite grilled cheese memories via their Web site, beginning April 16. Who doesn’t love a grilled cheese sandwich–and a free one is even better.
In addition, here are a few grilled cheese facts:
1. Although the origin of the sandwich is unknown, grilled cheese sandwiches appear in the literature of the ancient Romans.
2. According to Kraft, 74 percent of the people who buy sliced cheese make a grilled cheese sandwich at least monthly.
3. The tomato is the most frequently added ingredient to grilled cheese.
4. In France, a grilled cheese sandwich is called a Croque Monsieur and includes ham.

I had no idea the grilled cheese sandwich went back to the times of ancient Romans!
